well, that was horrific. I can't imagine having children in the house during this, what a nightmare.
I keep wanting less screens lately, for me watching your drunk friends talk over themselves on zoom is only amusing for 5-10 minutes.... I actually thought now was the perfect time to delete FB/Insta after realizing that letting my time on social accounts creep up right now would be a huge waste of time i could use to lean into more valuable endeavors. The friends who call, email or Facetime me have shown which humans i really want to invest time in.
Surely some of these folks have abandoned notebooks, sewing projects, tangled knitting, musical instruments, and woodworking things they can tinker with. (It's my turn to be the contrarian on this one I guess) Marrying up to your screens feels like a cop-out.

Doing God's work! Also I totally agree but only insofar as it applies to other people living alone like me. Not going to pretend I'd have any idea what it's like to be quarantined with children!
I think Dante skipped that circle but I'm pretty sure quarantine with children would be the 12th circle of hell. Can only judge from my friend's reports tho
Climate change, screen-time, this and that and what not?! The Corona virus seems to be teaching us so many things! But I indeed crave for the time when all this is over and I can see people in-person and not in-screen!
“I started the Forest Bathing Club to get people and myself off screens in the 2-D world and into nature to experience the real world,” said Julia Plevin, a designer and founder of the Forest Bathing Club. “Now we’re doing virtual forest baths.”
🙈
I had to google Forest Bathing to really get it which is....just going in nature? Now how TF do you virtually forest bathe?? So absurdly funny. This makes me very glad to have a backyard and live near the mountains.
And the last thing I have noticed about myself is how absolutely thrilled I am now to see a human in the flesh.
Being an "essential" employee, I'm actually seeing more people than usual as they all get bored out of their heads and decide to come to one of the few stores that are open. Still doing record business. This virus has brought out the worst in careless, thoughtless, people who put their need to stave off boredom over my, and my families, health. Some go beyond that. Today some tweaker holding a glass bottle full of spat-out tobacco cussed me out for having a barrier in front of the register to try and prevent the spread of the illness. I could do with less face-to-face contact with humans right about now. sorry, a bit grumpy today...
"All your base are belong to us," as the popular meme goes. It's a losing battle -- instead of limiting screentime, parents would be better served by having different kind of screentime (constructive, humorous, gaming, etc.).
So concerned. So confused. There’s silver lining all over the place, but it’s obscured by other bigger, darker clouds with even more silvery silver lining.
Good thing I have unlimited time to just stare at the wall and think. 🙃

Don't let the screens win.

Win what? We’re in survival mode, man.

Mhm. Where I come from we call it “going for a walk”
That emoji is perfect

Read a book, paperback, hardcover... Bibliophile? then it's time to read those hoarded books collecting dust on your shelves! :)
so real! I can't use the rabbit hole excuse to read library books anymore, my shelves will be clear by the end of this at this rate haha.
