Living out your own failed dreams through your child is horrendous, especially when it involves Hollywood and fame. This reminded me of the movie Mommy Dearest. A horror movie in the sense that it was true. McCurdy has her work cut out for her. Childhood trauma is a beast to unravel but she sounds like she is making progress.
I got the same kind of gallows humor from my dad who was a police officer. I think this writer deserves the title of her book—good for her and I love that her brother supports her. Too bad for grandma!
