I'm intentionally seeking out articles that explain how & why America has become so divided. It's a huge topic, bigger than any article, but this one is a good start.
The more I read about guns, the less confident I feel in my own opinions on the topic.
This article reminded me of the part of the Appalachians where I live in western Maryland. We were once a booming railroad town but now are a depressed area when all the manufacturing, mining and other industries closed down. From the capital city of NJ, we LOVE rural living, have a new understanding of gun culture, and have found our liberal ideas challenged. Our experience here helps me totally understand the perspective of the people of Nucla.
