I was introduced to David Foster Wallace through Readup. It had me Googling him and I eventually ordered his book of short stories called The Girl With Curious Hair. I could not get through the first story - WAY too much work. If indeed this is genius, then I’m not up for it. But I find this excerpt from the biography completely fascinating. So I think I am more interested in David than his writing. I would definitely buy this book. And I will try another of his short stories but I’m kind of dreading it!

Wow I’m having flashbacks of my winter of reading IJ. That was painful. It’s so close to his life, we knew that but it was also fiction. Non fiction might be too much of a downer. Interested in hearing people’s reaction .

I want to read it, too. “Every Love Story is a Ghost Story” - what a title.

It’s wild how much of Infinite Jest was based on DFW’s real life experiences.
