My advice: use Instagram like the way Instagram uses you.

From “vintage filters” to “Instagram face (the almond eyes, heart shaped face with almond eyes and wide cheekbones that is “distinctly white yet ambiguously ethnic”)” to “doing it for the ‘gram” to 'social justice' and of course, “influencers”. It is astonishing how much Instagram has shaped society in just ten years.

What I love about Instagram is the opportunity to look at—and sometimes buy—stunning modern art. I also love seeing videos of the artists doing their work. I had no idea the Kardashians were even ON Instagram! I think its value depends on what you’re looking for. It’s a terrific platform for artists marketing their work world wide.

That's an awesome use of the platform! I had no idea that was a thing on Instagram but of course with billions of people using it there are bound to be many positive examples such as this in addition to the negative ones. Always important to be reminded of.

So funny, Jeff, because I wasn’t aware of the negative ones!

This is quite chilling ... seeing it all spelled out in one article.

      This stood out to me:

Instagram turned our phones into adult pacifiers. At first, this was a tranquillising reel of pretty pictures, pumped in a steady stream with each thumb-swipe.

Now TikTok is doing the same but on steroids
