I once had a friend who was falling in love. She said she hated that part of the relationship and wanted to skip to the “real” business of love. I knew what she meant. But when I was falling in love at 45, I found it intoxicating and delicious. How extraordinary to feel so new in mid-life, how fun. I surrendered allowing the magic to flow knowing all along it would settle into something more earth bound. And it has after 18 years. Once, I heard a therapist say that gratitiude flows in a loving relationship. That SO reasonated with both my husband and myself. We continue to really appreciate one another. That’s romantic to me.

After 36 years of marriage, I believe Heather hit the nail on the head.
We're all in this thing together, and some of us our married to each other the trick is to be there....present, loving and caring...and surprisingly there can still be some true romance.
