I like the distinction here between hope and optimism. I hear a lot of individuals speak of “returning to normal” but waiting for it to happen. They always seem more disappointed and frustrated. I do think you have to take action to feel hopeful, to actually create conditions where hope feels genuine and alive. Small acts done with great love are not only important but powerful. Transformative.
