I get what the author is saying here. I love what I eat but I look at it more from a health perspective - not entertainment. I like to taste the item, so rarely make a sauce or drown it in butter - salt and pepper do just great. Or, a sprinkle of Parmesan, a dash of hot sauce. My husband and I are addicted to the broccoli rabe made at our local Italian market. It has a lot of garlic and red pepper, so we add a little of that to almost everything just for the kick. Vegetables are my favorite foods and a trip to the farmer’s market a pure delight. Roasted anything takes the flavor up a notch. And I love mixing hot and cold together.
