I like Olivia’s music a lot - what I got from this piece is an empathic view of girls today by an excellent writer. Sour rocks, but there’s pain behind the music, tender love, sharp wit; all the notebook doodles that show so much more going on in the minds and hearts of girls than the heart shapes floating over their lowercase i’s.
SOUR rocks. I finally had the opportunity to dance to the entire album and it is bop after bop after bop. Like any true fan, I already know every word to drivers license, deja vu, and good 4 u. So many good drops and bridges and I love when Olivia belts the crazy stuff in a crazy way. I can kinda tell that this music was produced to perform well on TikTok -- the music itself has attention deficit disorder -- but I like that aspect to it. Pop-punk turns into a ballad turns into some EDM beat and then all the sudden its just Olivia and a guitar. Go girl.

Btw, I discovered a “secret” dancing stage down Roy Road on the opposite side of the road from the bookstore and Gusdorf. It is a tiny deadend of Roy that goes between Private Label Select and the yummy burrito food truck.
Almost danced there as it is rather conveniently off the main drag and with an expansive view of T🏔Mama Mountain. My battery died before could start though.
Looking forward to a full album listen today. Glad to see the writer making the Alanis and Glen B comparisons here.
Rodrigo is gifted in songwriting and voice and more. Will be cool to witness her trajectory from here. I sense that once we shift from this post-break-up emo material that she can deliver more widescreen themes with similar personal intimate candor.
