Poor roads and construction activities going everywhere. Most of the metro cities are still not fully connected with metro(WIP), it leads to traffic jams. Hopefully, things will be better in upcoming 5-10 years.
If massive, year-long metro projects that are causing obstructions today are finished, I indeed hope they will uplift cities! In my last trip we also traveled for hours on the Kerala coastal highway (or what was left of it), it seemed to be under reconstruction along the entire stretch at the same time. Inconvenience today for better tomorrow.
I spent a month going to several areas of India and Nepal many years ago. I read this article and thought - first off the traffic was bad there, but so much worse in China. The description about living in the mentally of being poor is much more visible in India than China and one example I can make is I wanted to see the Taj Mahal at sunrise , so as I left my palatial dwelling I took a horse drawn carriage. I thought my neighbors were squatting all around because they were in prayer😂🤣. They were having their morning poop!!!😜.
It truly is a mess. People and cows shitting essentially any and everywhere , and palaces and temples in the center of it all! I believe the bit about migration. My tennis friend ( from. Cyprus) went to school in London with Gandis daughter

Yeah let’s hope things will be better soon 🤞
Ouch, scathing. I can't claim to know better, but the sentiment seems overly pessimistic.
