As a young mother who prided herself on not buying her kids Nintendo, I find myself now, at 63, letting go of my black/white narrow view. My parents were horrified by the Beatles and sexual revolution. They thought for sure that my generation was going to hell. It was very exclusionary and self righteous. Part of my health regime now involves remaining open to diversity and things that are not in my wheelhouse. Video games and a lot of the current technology is not necessarily things I use or find compelling, but I’m fascinated by all the changes we are currently experiencing. Perhaps every generation thinks their’s is the best but I’m trying to see it all for what it is without labeling it. Part of what makes someone seem old is living in the past and thinking you have it all figured out. “Empty Mind”never made so much sense. However, as a mother, I am worried about Ninja. I hope he does get more sleep, fresh air in nature and exercise.
