“I am letting go of a professional life that answers the question Who am I?“

Loved this article. So many people define themselves by their work. This is reflected by the fact that when people ask, “What do you do?” they usually mean, “What is your job?”

I loved what he wrote about teachers. Also the parts about Bach. I grew up playing piano and played many of his pieces. I had no idea he lived his life so beautifully.

      Beautiful.

“Unhappy is he who depends on success to be happy,”

      Wow.

I try to think deeply about my own death on a daily basis. I enjoy it. If I ever get a tattoo, it will involve a skull and/or bones. I don’t think it’s morbid, I think it’s an awesome, helpful reminder - this is water.

I know so many older folks who can’t let go of their work. It makes me sad. This essay really helped me to understand exactly why.

I’m VERY psyched for this next decade. I think that my career began, in earnest, with Readup, just a few years ago. This is my decade. It’s time to go big.
