I need to read about fifty more articles on this. I’m finding myself so torn between my libertarian(ish) ideals (don’t tread on me!) and the belief that true universal basic healthcare is the only answer here. I don’t have nearly enough information to have an opinion except this (which I understand isn’t productive): the current situation is a LITERAL nightmare, built for profit, not for promoting health. It’s making people way less healthy.
It freaks me out the way that the AHA says, “Hospitals and health systems treat all patients who come through their doors, around the clock and regardless of their ability to pay.” To me, that sounds like fantasy land! We should either have universal coverage or not. Right?
Lets read about healthcare!
