I so much enjoy reading a first hand account of Naked and Afraid more than viewing it, which can oddly dilute the horror. This had me totally engrossed the entire time, shaking my head in wondrous disbelief and never wanting the story to end. What makes someone want to boldly face possible death - or worse - some horrific crippling, painful disfigurement? I would imagine you gain a huge amount of fearlessness, courage and confidence. I’d rather face my absolute terror of public speaking and retain my health!

I’d rather paint my roof and yours but I loved reading this article as I’m a dedicated fan of the show! I love Alone too

I enjoy the idea of minimalist living

I loved everything about this article. I'm a fan of the show but the cable TV format compromises the end result of a really awesome concept. In contrast, Braverman's account perfectly captures the epic and absurd nature of the experience. I was excited to get a behind-the-scenes look at the production and delighted to find that she's also an incredible writer and storyteller.

Her episode is number seven of season 10 and it's definitely one of the most memorable. I hope that the raw footage from the series is being archived somewhere. It would be awesome to one day get a re-release without the obnoxious Discovery Channel editing. In the mean time I'd love to read more articles like this one!

Jeff, this was SO epic, I loved it! A collection of short stories by survivors of this experience would be great.
