I love articles about pets, especially cats! Our two cats are our children. They follow us everywhere, room to room, upstairs downstairs. Not only do I talk to my little darlings; I ask questions and get answers! We get comments about how handsome Batty is, but we don’t brag about it. I even taught little Stripe how to do doggy tricks, like right paw, left paw, sit up, lay down, roll over. Now I am bragging!! Right now, while. I’m writing this comment, I have a cat sitting on each side of me staring six inches from my face waiting for their ocean whitefish and tuna.. what a wonderful life with a cat or two!
I loved this! I talk to my cat all the time. I just got home after a long day of work and yoga and as I climbed up the flight of stairs to my apartment, I could hear my cat meowing from the inside my apartment. I started talking to him before I could even see him. This happens every day.
Totally agree that animals have rich interior lives. My cat is a very complicated creature.
What a hoot! This guy actually talking to his cat a total riot.
Profound tidbits abound. Like this: “I never meant to become this person.”
Also, I don’t know why I like the convention, “I realize that [what I’m doing right now] is tedious at best, and often pitiful and repulsive.” It’s fairly cliche (just like “what we talk about when we talk about x”) but sometimes so right on. (Recently, I almost started a blog post about writers block with: “You don’t want to read about my writers block, but please, I’m begging you, stay.”)
