I read an article (paywalled, in a gibberish language) about a rare beetle whose presence in Norway has been reduced to just a few ancient oak trees on a graveyard. It was thought to be completely extinct in Norway for about a hundred years, until this small population was discovered.
It's just tangentially relate to this article, but it shows how big a difference even a small area can make.
good point. just as the various efforts to help provide habitat and sustenance for pollinators, butterflies and migrating birds -- every little bit may help.
Sounds like some good results, little forest oases providing a home to flora and fauna.
