      This article was deeply moving. I am coming away with a different perspective and appreciation of one’s history, legacy and how it impacts their own. I think the commercials on TV, such as Ancestry.com, never really captured my imagination. They seemed trite and “far fetched” - everyone was a relative of some famous historical figure. I dismissed the process as hokey. This account, with historical pictures and written documents, is altogether different - immediate and impactful. Thanks for posting and giving me a broader view.

      not sure if the photos will format properly to read up, but this is a fascinating look into a variety of personal documents / family photos surrounding those who have been able to document the enslavement of their ancestors.

        What an incredible find, thanks so much for posting!

        I pushed out an update to fix the photos so they should be working now for everyone using the iOS app or Chrome extension. Such a crucial part of this article.
