I agree. The news/media industry seems like it has been on the decline for years. While publishers and other related organizations seem to be making a push to make themselves seem more credible and real, they have not seemed to have much success. Politics and the news, in general, are still the same constant spiral they were when this article was written and people still don't believe the press, which seems to be eroding away at democracy itself. I'm not sure what the answer is to this problem, but the continued effort being made towards these ends seems like it could only help in the long run.
