I feel like this toes the line between being a labor rights issue and being a human rights issue. These are the conversations we need to face as a society that uses these platforms. It is the digital equivalent of “out of sight, out of mind” — buying clothes that end up in a distant landfill, etc. As consumers of this media we need to recognize and reconcile with the fact that our “safe” “clean” feeds are only such because thousands of humans have had to be exposed to traumatic and violent imagery to moderate them.
