Intending to watch soon! This article (written before the first episode aired last Sunday) gave interesting context about the prior activities of the directors, and the relation to the main GoT story.

I really appreciate this article. I haven’t seen an episode of Game of Thrones and thought I might be missing something. House of the Dragon sounded like a possible entre into this world, but definitely not for me after reading this preview. Enough violence in the world I’m living in that I don’t need to search in out in fiction.

Oh, the first episode of House of the Dragon was gut-wrenchingly gory, violent and brutal! As was the series overall before. I guess some people find that entertaining, and in that case I would say it’s better to find it in fiction than in the real world 🙂

Luckily there’s more to the series than violence, like political scheming!

Thanks for responding, Thor. You’ve confirmed my impression from your review. I also feel like there’s enough political scheming going on in real life but maybe watching that in fiction wouldn’t be as painful as what our country is witnessing in our government. I love Readup and appreciate all you do to keep it going!
