      Hmm. I think the valuable thing here is the idea of different social ladders for different categories. That is a fascinating idea with lots of applications and implications.

      Most of the rest of this is more after happy-hour philosophy talk. I've met generational one-percenters (his global elite), I got news -they don't care about 'winning', 'domination', or 'owning/control'. Their parents do, their parents are the ones who got them there. The younger ones I've met are more concerned with where the best vacation is and what charity they want to run.

      I also think there is some perspective bias here. A self identified gentry posits that labor is dumb (too dumb to know the elite exists) and the Elite are evil at worst and quasi-evil at best. But the Gentry are almost all good and virtuous. Shocking.
